Turbo Power
After being beaten by the new Turbo eclipses and Honda/Acuras with their V-tec Powered DOHC, it was clear that we needed
something more.
A turbo kit from Turbo Performance Center was purchased in 1996. The kit included a cast manifold, T28 Garrett Turbo, Downpipe,
Fuel Preassure Regulator, Hoses, etc... It was a 5psi set up.
With this set-up we could beat easily the GS-R's
Power was in the 170-180 hp range
Installed in the following couple of years:
- Arias forged pistons
- Venom fuel pump and secondary Msd fuel pump
- 2 aditional injectors
- Spearco Front Mounted Intercooler
Boost was increased to 15psi and with borrowed slicks we ran a 13.17 @ 103mph , 13.32 @ 105mph (see timeslips)
New Turbo Setup
**Pics & dynoruns of this new setup are still pending
The car has already run a traction limited 14.5 @ 100+ mph with only 8psi of boost and a 14.2 @ 105mph
with 15psi with the tires slipping all the way to 70mph. We are expecting low 12 second timeslips with drag slicks and about
18psi of boost.
